As the pickup truck segment becomes more and more competitive, choosing the right model for your needs is harder than ever. If you’ve been looking for a vehicle to tow your camper or boat around Ft. Meade, consider the Chevrolet Colorado or Silverado 1500, both of which were recently named to U.S. News’ list of the best trucks for towing.
The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado
With a maximum towing capability of 7,700 pounds (the best of any compact pickup), it’s no surprise that U.S. News included the 2020 Colorado on its list. The publication’s editors were particularly fond of its available 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine, which puts out an impressive 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Alongside its remarkable performance, it also provides an EPA-estimated 30 mpg.
The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
You’d have to look extremely hard to find anything U.S. News’ Nick Kurcsewski didn’t love about the 2020 Silverado 1500. Dubbing it “the light-duty truck towing champion,” he raved about its 13,400-pound towing capacity, 15 available camera views, and ability to crush the Ford F-150’s specs by triple-digits.
